Nowadays, young women see much more images of exceptionally beautiful women in one day than our mothers saw throughout their entire teenage years. It’s no wonder that 8 out of 10 women are dissatisfied with their appearance.
Beauty standards have changed drastically and became progressively more unrealistic and unattainable. We need full-time hairdressers, make-up artists, physical trainers and dietitians just to attempt to keep up.
The conclusion deriving is that most of us aren’t “beautiful” according to the standards set by the media standards of beauty. Even models and actresses are eliminated from the tiny beautiful category when they are caught in their natural state by lurking photographers. Maintaining that standard of perfection must be exhausting and humiliating.
Even though we are aware of the unrealistic and unattainable character of the promoted beauty, most of us spend far too much time, emotions, money attempting to keep us close to the ideal.
Here are some ways to start feeling absolutely beautiful and to stop conforming yourself to unfair, unattainable existing beauty standards:



1. Look in the mirror, look at others.

You are the way you are. You look the way you look. You are human and you are unique. There is no one like you on this earth.

You didn’t come here without a purpose. You are no accident, failure or coincidence. No matter how you feel about yourself, the way you look, who you are, who you want to be – there is a plan for you and you don’t have to change anything about yourself.

All you have to do is accept and respect who you are. Trust yourself.

2. Accept others for who they are as well.

Just because someone is a different shape, size or color than you doesn’t mean that they don’t deserve to have self-confidence as well. Give people around you reasons to make them think that they are beautiful as you do. If you do that to others, it will make you feel good, and you’ll realize that beauty is abundant, around you and within you.

3. Focus on qualities

Stop spending time staring at the bulge or wrinkle. No one notices them. Give up comparing you with Miss Perfection. Sometimes you may not be aware of how beautiful you are and how many exceptional features you have. Focusing on so-called ‘worsts’ will aliment a false negative perception about you. No matter your size, shape, or age, your body is a miraculous temple.

4. Stand up straight

Always remember your posture. The recipe for a right posture is as follow: hold your head high, through your shoulders back, straight your back. It aid you appearing confident and amazing. Don’t forget to smile.

5. Make everything around you beautiful.

Whether this means decorating your room with nice lights or positive pictures from magazines or paintings, placing nice candles, having beautiful surroundings will make you feel beautiful too. Write „confidence-boosters” on post-it notes, on fridge magnets, on the bathroom mirror with eyeliner… places you’re bound to see it.
